HuraKan – God of wind and storm
The LS HuraKan 8.0 turbine with horizontal axis is not slowed down or switched off at high wind speeds, but continues to run at full load in the most attractive wind phase.
In Mayan mythology, Hurakan is the god of wind and storms. The innovative features of the LuvSide LS HuraKan 8.0 ensure efficient and robust operation even in phases of strong winds or storms.
The flexible blade suspension reacts in the overload range, changes the angle of attack and thus the angle of attack and reduces the diameter of the rotor. Three gas struts control the position of the blades so that the turbine runs constantly at nominal power. This achieves what many power plants in the small wind sector are unable to do: The horizontal axis LuvSide turbine is not braked or disengaged at high wind speeds, but continues to run at full load during the most attractive wind phase.
Insights into the LuvSide turbine
At the heart of the LuvSide LS HuraKan 8.0 is a powerful generator that is directly connected to the rotor shaft. This ensures high reliability and maximum efficiency. Thanks to the downwind principle and the wind vane, the system aligns itself into the wind.
Folding mast for easy installation
The SteelRoots© folding mast greatly simplifies the erection of the wind turbine. The foundation is dug in on site and then covered with the excavated material and compacted. This means there is no soil sealing. The mast and turbine are delivered in pre-assembled modules and mounted on the foundation. Finally, the mast is erected hydraulically, so no crane or cherry picker is required.
